Higher Altitude Equestrians offers several training options for those looking to ride with Lauren or with the HAE IEA Team.

Training Options

Full Training

The full training program includes 20 contacts a month for any client who boards their horse at Summer Haven Stables. These contacts are broken down into schooling rides to improve the education of the client’s horse and lessons which could include private lessons (45 mins, plus 15 minute unsupervised warm-up), semi-private lessons (1 hour, plus 15 minute unsupervised warm-up), and group lessons (1 hour, 15 minutes unsupervised warm-up) based on lesson availability and client needs. Anytime a client is out of town, those lesson contacts will be turned into schooling rides unless otherwise rescheduled. Rescheduling is available for lessons based on trainer availability to ensure 20 contacts per month. When rider begins showing at 3′ and above, one training ride will be dropped and the rider will receive 4 lessons per week.

Full Training includes:
Three lessons a week
Two schooling rides a week
Exception given to riders that show at or above 3′
20 contacts a month

Monthly Training Fee: $1,100
Training fees are due on the 15th of current month

Full Equine Only Training

The full training program includes 20 contacts a month for any client who boards their horse at Summer Haven Stables. These contacts are broken down into schooling rides to improve the education of the client’s horse.

Half Training

The half training program includes 12 contacts a month for any client who boards their horse at Summer Haven Stables. These contacts are broken down into schooling rides to improve the education of the client’s horse and lessons which could include private lessons (45 mins, plus 15 minute unsupervised warm-up), semi-private lessons (1 hour, plus 15 minute unsupervised warm-up), and group lessons (1 hour, 15 minutes unsupervised warm-up) based on lesson availability and client needs. Anytime a client is out of town, those lesson contacts will be turned into schooling rides unless otherwise rescheduled. Rescheduling is available for lessons based on trainer availability to ensure 12 contacts per month. A horse lesson program is available for those those in half training, which allows the trainer to teach other riders on the client horse for a reduced training rate, the horse cannot be placed in more than 2 outside lessons per week.

Cost breakdown of horse lesson program:
Lesson Horses: $95 per lesson to outside rider
Payment given to owner: $40 off training fees per lesson

Half Equine Only Training

The half training program includes 12 contacts a month for any client who boards their horse at Summer Haven Stables. These contacts are broken down into schooling rides to improve the education of the client’s horse.

Equine Rehabilitation Training

The equine rehabilitation program includes up to 20 contacts a month for any client who boards their horse at Summer Haven Stables. These contacts consist of medical care, health schedule management, vet appointment oversight, medication administration, and up to 5 weekly controlled exercising sessions.

Rehabilitation Training Fee information:
Monthly Training Fee: $500
Training Fees due on the 15th of current month

Other Training Agreements:

Higher Altitude Equestrians is also open to other training agreements which can be agreed upon based on student circumstances. These agreements will depend on whether there are suitable horses available for riding for those who do not own or lease an animal or other circumstances for those who would like to trailer in a horse, or would like a lesson on an outside property.

Typical Fees for other Agreements are:
Per lesson fee of $95
Trailer-in fee: $25 per lesson

24 hour notice is needed to reschedule or change a lesson time, preferred by email or text message.

Horse Care that is included in all HAE Training Programs:

Coordination and scheduling of vets, farriers and other health/training experts within the HAE healthcare team.

Recommendations on feed, treatments and training materials.

Monitoring the health safety of the horse.

Creating specific training plans for horse based on owner’s goals.
